A wick trimmer is a type of specialized, vertical scissors that allows you to trim a wick deep within a jar; something that can be hard to do with regular scissors.

Did you know that trimming your candle wick is what keeps it burning safely and for as long as possible? It’s true!

Trimming your wick to 1/4” before lighting it each time helps prevent “mushrooming”, which is a cluster of carbon buildup when a wick brings too much wax into itself to burn. This can cause excessive sooting and an overly large flame which can be unpredictable, and will also burn up your candle too quickly.
